Tameka Woods Golf Course History
After attending a PGA golf course design and construction course with some of the most notable golf architects in the golfing world such as Tom Fazio, Ed Seay (Arnold Palmer’s chief Architect), Jimmy Applegate (Gary Players chief Architect), Brian Silva, The owner and operator, James A Hague III, incorporated the lessons taught by these great men to build Tameka Woods Golf Course.
However, the routing was laid out by God. The routing of the holes was drawn up in 5 minutes on a napkin with only the basic boundaries of the property in mind. It fit the blueprints and all holes are as drawn on the napkin have remained the same for 36 years.

Mr. Hague was born and raised nearby and is a United States Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. 2024 will be his 53rd year in the golfing business. He began his career after he returned home from Vietnam helping his father build and operate Indian Springs golf course – the first public golf course in Johnson County.
